An adjunct is any adverb, adverbial clause, adverbial phrase or prepositional phrase that gives more information primarily about the acrion in the sentence. However, it can also qualify another adjective, an adverb or even a compliment. Usually when an adjunct is removed from a sentence the sentence still remains grammatically correct. Example;
a) The man slapped him in the gallary.
In the gallary is the adunct showing place and even when removed from the sentence, the sentence still remains grammatically correct.
Adjuncts show the time, place, reason, manner, frequency, degree etc. of an action.
